On Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at 1:08 pm, while on extra patrol because of a recent complaint of illegal narcotic activity in the 600 block of Mount Vernon Drive in LaPlace, a St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office deputy arrested Joshua Castillo, 20, of Mount Vernon Drive on an outstanding bench warrant. Upon his arrest, the deputy recovered from Castillo‘s possession seven small bags of marijuana (approximately $100), sixteen small pieces of wrapped foil containing heroin (approximately $300), and cigar stuffed with marijuana.
The deputy arrested Joshua Castillo and booked him with possession with intent to distribute heroin, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and a bench warrant. He remains in custody in lieu of a $90,000 bond and a probation/parole hold. Castillo was arrested eight times in St. John the Baptist Parish since September 2011.
