On Thursday, May 7, 2015, at 10:41 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office deputies responded to the 1700 block of West Frisco Drive in LaPlace for the report of a man that was attempting to enter the complainant‘s house through a window at the rear of the house. When deputies arrived, the perpetrator eluded deputies as he fled through neighbors‘ backyards and jumped several fences.
Deputies responding to the area located a suspect matching the description of the perpetrator. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies apprehended the perpetrator who was identified as Kenneth King, 24, of East 13th Street in Reserve.
The complainant told deputies that the man rang the doorbell at the front of her residence several times, but she did not answer the door because she did not know the subject at the door. When she called 911 for help, she watched him as he walked to the rear of her house. Deputies found a window screen in the garden near a rear window.
Deputies arrested Kenneth King and booked him with attempted simple burglary and flight from a deputy. King remains in custody in lieu of a $16,000 bond and probation/parole hold. King was arrested twelve times in St. John the Baptist Parish since December 2008.
