Sean Schnyder, 44, of LaPlace, was arrested Friday morning on a judicial court-ordered arrest warrant and booked with simple robbery and false impersonation of a police officer.
On Wednesday afternoon, February 22, 2012, just before 2:30 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the Ole Tyme Saver convenient store in the 1700 block of Carrollwood Drive in LaPlace for a reported simple robbery that occurred in the parking lot of the store. Deputies arrived to find the victim of the robbery was a juvenile boy who went to the store with 2 older juveniles.
The victim told deputies that he and two acquaintances rode their bikes to the store. When they got to the store, a black male approached the three juveniles in the parking lot. He showed them a police officer type badge and said this is official police business. He grabbed the boy and pulled him behind a dumpster, and the other 2 juveniles ran in the store to get help. The boy attempted to but could not pull away. The man pushed the boy against the dumpster and went through the boy’s pants pockets. He stole money from the boy and fled behind an adjacent 2 story building. The man was wearing a white hat and red and white argyle print or diamond print shirt.
Deputies canvassed the area looking for the perpetrator to no avail. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office 911 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111
