On Monday, April 28, 2014, at 1:05 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 300 block of Historic East Street in Garyville for the report of a subject being shot. The victim, a 49-year-old man from Convent, LA, sustained a gunshot wound in his upper left arm. He was conscious and transported to LSU Medical Center in New Orleans for treatment. No one else was injured.
The victim told investigators that he and two acquaintances were sitting on the front porch of a residence when they heard gunshots, and he was struck with a bullet. Three bullets went through a window of the residence. The victim could neither identify nor describe the perpetrator.
