On Tuesday, August 9, 2014, at 8:29 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Revere Drive in LaPlace for the report of a kidnapping. A 14-year-old girl reported that she was kidnapped by two unknown male subjects who put a plastic bag over her head, forced her in a car, and drove around with her for five hours. She said that she escaped when the men attempted to bring her in an unknown house in the Cambridge Subdivision. She ran to a friend’s house with the bag still over her head and a nap sack on her back.

As the investigation continued, investigators learned that the 14-yearold girl fabricated the entire story about the kidnapping because she knew that her mother would discipline her for returning home late after visiting a young male subject at his residence.

Investigators arrested and booked the girl with criminal mischief – filing a false police report. She was released to the custody of her mother.
