On Friday, September 12, 2014, at 6:27 pm, a St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to Homewood Place in Reserve for the report of two men in a green pickup truck dumping trash. The responding deputy saw the two men in the green truck leaving the area and attempted to stop the driver of the truck on Highway LA 44. However, the driver refused to stop until stopping at a residence in the 100 block of E. 15th Street. The driver fled on foot, and the deputy detained the passenger for further investigation.

When detaining the passenger, the deputy saw coffee filters, rubber tubing, a white powdery substance, and bottles containing unidentified liquids in the truck. These items are consistent with items used to set up a clandestine laboratory. The deputy also smelled a chemical odor emitting from the truck. He notified narcotics detectives of his findings. Deputies attempted to locate the driver of the truck to no avail.

Narcotics detectives obtained and executed a judicial court authorized search warrant for the truck. Detectives recovered precursors for the creation of a clandestine laboratory, two coffee filters containing methamphetamine residue, .3 grams of methamphetamine, and a measuring cup containing methamphetamine residue. Because of the volatile nature of methamphetamine laboratories, detectives called a specialized company to disassemble the laboratory safely.

Detectives identified the passenger of the truck as Kerry Trosclair, 30, of Millet Drive in Reserve. Detectives arrested and booked him with possession of methamphetamine, creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory, and an outstanding bench warrant for failure to appear in court for a 2013 arrest for narcotics charges that includeed creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory. Kerry Trosclair remains in jail in lieu of a $78,500 bond and a Louisiana Probation and Parole detainer. Kerry Trosclair was arrested 26 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since April 2001.

Detectives identified the driver of the truck as Christopher Trosclair, 32, of E. 15th Street in Reserve and obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for him.

Christopher Trosclair turned himself in to deputies at the Sherman Walker Correctional Center on Sunday, September 14, at 10:12 pm. He was arrested and booked with possession of methamphetamine, creation or operation of a clandestine laboratory, flight from an officer, turn signal required, stop signs, and one outstanding judicial arrest warrants, for simple battery and theft under $500. Christopher Trosclair remains in jail in lieu of a $41,750 bond. Christopher Trosclair was arrested 33 times in St. John the Baptist Parish since March 1999.
