On Monday, March 14, 2016, at 2:48 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Camelia Avenue and Pheasant Street in the LaPlace Park Subdivision, for a call for service in reference to gunshots heard in the area.  Responding deputies located an individual test firing a weapon in the woods directly behind homes.

Over the course of the investigation, investigators recovered two rifles, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia and arrested three suspects.  Arrested were:

 

Corey Horton, 19, of LaPlace.  Investigators booked him with illegal use of a weapon, flight from an officer, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.  Horton was released from custody on a $10,000 bond.

 

Alton Robinson, 18, of LaPlace.  Investigators booked him with illegal use of a weapon, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, and two outstanding attachments for contempt of court.  Robinson remains in custody in lieu of an $8,800 bond.

Tyree Simmons, 18, of New Orleans.  Investigators booked him with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile.  Simmons was released from custody on a $4,000 bond.
