Four St. John Parish residents were arrested Monday, October 9, 2017 on drug charges. Arrested were: Joshua Castillo, 23, of LaPlace; Rashad Brown, 22, of Reserve; Darrius Davis, 19, of LaPlace; and Brianna Evelyn Johnson, 22, of LaPlace.
On Monday, October 9, 2017, after receiving a tip that occupants of a hotel room were in possession of illegal narcotics, members of the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division responded to the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel in LaPlace. Upon arriving at the hotel, detectives knocked on the door of the suspect hotel room, on the second floor. Two of the occupants immediately fled the room by jumping from the second floor window of the room. These subjects dropped a handgun and several bags of marijuana as they fled the scene. The fleeing subjects were subsequently arrested.
Detectives secured the hotel room and obtained a search warrant for the room and one of the subject’s personal vehicles. Detectives seized over 100 Ecstasy tablets, over 100 Xanax pills, marijuana, U.S. currency, and other illegal narcotics in the hotel room and in the vehicle. Detectives arrested all four subjects as part of the investigation. This investigation is ongoing.

Joshua Castillo, a convicted felon for previous drug violations, was arrested and charged with possession of Xanax (Alprazolam) (felony); possession with intent to distribute MDMA (felony); possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1st offense (misd); possession with intent to distribute marijuana; illegal carrying of weapon with controlled dangerous subject; possession of firearm/carrying concealed weapon by a convicted felon (felony); and also on a contempt of court warrant for a drug charge (misd). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $91,669.50 bond. |

Rashad Brown was arrested and charged with possession of Xanax (Alprazolam) (felony); possession with intent to distribute MDMA (felony); possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia 1st offense (misd); possession with intent to distribute marijuana; and illegal carrying of a weapon with a controlled dangerous substance. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $71,500 bond. |
