The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is proud to partner with Denka Performance Elastomer for enhancement and support of technology and equipment at the new Lloyd B. Johnson Law Enforcement Training Center in LaPlace.
The company has committed to platinum sponsorship, $20,000 over four years, to meet the training and event needs for our businesses, community and law enforcement partners. On hand for signing of the commitment agreement were Sheriff Mike Tregre, Patrick Walsh, Safety, Health, Environmental & Security Manager; Tricia Thompson, Human Resources & General Affairs Manager; Plant Manager Jorge Lavastida; and Akira Tajima, Executive Officer & VP Administration.
“DPE greatly appreciates the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office and all that they do for our parish,: Lavastida said. “We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to these services for our community.”
The center opened last month at 947 Cambridge Drive in LaPlace. The center, which is named in honor of Johnson who served as St. John Parish Sheriff for 20 years, will enhance safety, address professional training needs of officers, offer community education, increase interaction between citizens and law enforcement, and boost police presence in the community. Public range dates, concealed carry classes, women’s self-defense classes, crime prevention programs and hunter education are among programs being planned.
