To end the school year with a fun extracurricular activity May 12 and 19, 2023, several officers with the St. John Sheriff’s Office took on students and faculty at John L. Ory Communications Magnet School in LaPlace and students and staff at West St. John High in Edgard in friendly games of volleyball. A fun time was had by all.
Sheriff Mike Tregre encourages his officers to participate in youth community outreach projects such as volleyball games to give young people the opportunity to see deputies in a different role other than that of law enforcement officers and to form a positive relationship with them.
The SJSO thanks JLO and West St. John administrators for inviting officers to participate in these special events.
