Deputy Seth Jordan has been named Officer of the Third Quarter for his exceptional job performance during a recent shooting incident in Reserve. Sheriff Mike Tregre, along with Hailey Ralser, owner of Oh So Cute Monograms & Boutique, sponsor of the Officer of the Third Quarter, recognized Deputy Jordan during a staff meeting today at the Lloyd B. Johnson Training Center in LaPlace.
On Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 1823 hours, Deputy Seth Jordan, while off duty, witnessed a shooting at a business in Reserve.
Deputy Jordan, who was in his personal vehicle, notified Communications of a suspect vehicle seen fleeing the location. He followed the suspect vehicle, while maintaining a safe distance, while providing valuable information, which assisted the Uniformed Patrol Division, in stopping and detaining those involved, and locating an individual shot inside the vehicle. Deputy Jordan also provided support in detaining those involved in the incident that took place at the business.
Due to Deputy Jordan’s observations, information provided, and assistance while off duty, he improved the chances for deputies to arrive quickly to assist those in need of medical care and following those involved, which assisted greatly in an arrest of those parties involved in this incident.
Jordan’s keen observations and actions brings credit upon himself and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office by maintaining his oath, in protecting and serving the citizens of St. John Parish, at all times, on and off duty.
