Two local men were arrested January 26, 2024 in connection to an armed robbery that occurred on East 21st Street in Reserve. Arrested were Brandon Blackmore, 18, of LaPlace; and Markee King Jr., 18, of Reserve.
On Sunday, January 21, 2024, about 7:30 p.m., a female victim reported that Blackmore and King stole her automatic rifle from her vehicle. The men and victim met at a location on East 21st Street in Reserve. As both men exited the woman’s vehicle, Blackmore took her rifle. When she confronted Blackmore about stealing the weapon, he produced a handgun, pointed it at her, and demanded she leave the area, which she complied.
Based on investigation, detectives obtained a judicial warrant for Blackmore and King’s arrest.
Upon Blackmore’s arrest, officers conducted a search of his residence and discovered illegal narcotics. Blackmore was charged with armed robbery with a firearm (felony); aggravated assault with a firearm (felony); illegal carrying of weapon W/CDS; and possession with intent to distribute schedule 1 controlled dangerous substance. He is being held in custody in lieu of $175,000 bond.
King was charged with armed robbery (felony). He is being held on a $75,000 bond.
