St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office training instructor Lt. Denise Lowery has been named the Officer of the Second Quarter for 2025. Lieutenant Lowery was recognized, among many things, for her dedication and professionalism.

“Lt. Lowery plays a critical and multifaceted role in ensuring our personnel are physically prepared, medically trained and operationally ready to respond to any situation,” St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “Her personal training programs have not only improved individual wellness but have helped prepare our POST academy attendees for the physical fitness standards necessary to succeed.”

Lt. Lowery has conducted several ladies and elderly self-defense courses. She is an instructor for CPR/AED, Stop the Bleed, and Taser.

Sheriff Tregre recognized Lt. Lowery during a Command Staff meeting at the Lloyd B. Johnson Training Center in LaPlace on Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025. Shannon’s Body Shop LLC. in LaPlace is the sponsor of the Officer of the Second Quarter.

Lt. Lowery will be one of four officers considered for the 2025 Officer of the Year award during a ceremony held annually in January.

“Lt. Lowery is truly an asset, and her contributions deserve recognition,” Sheriff Tregre said.
