Lt. Scott Lacy of the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office recently graduated from the 295th session of the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy (FBINA) in Quantico, VA. Lt. Lacy currently serves as a supervisor in the Uniformed Patrol Division and has been with the SJSO since 2019.
“The FBINA experience has been a great honor,” Lt. Lacy said. “I am eager to bring the skills and knowledge gained there to help in service of the Sheriff’s Office and the people of St. John Parish.”
Lt. Lacy graduated the FBI Academy on Sept. 4, 2025 and now joins an elite group of law enforcement officials who have completed the highly selective training program. Less than one percent of law enforcement officers are chosen—by invitation only—to participate in the intensive 10-week program that provides advanced training in communication, leadership and fitness.
Instruction is provided by FBI Academy faculty, Special Agents and internationally recognized experts in the field.
Lt. Lacy was one of 257 attendees representing 49 states and 22 international law enforcement agencies. The FBI Academy, started in 1935, is attended by leaders of state, local, federal and international law enforcement agencies. Participants are selected through a nomination process conducted by their respective agency.
Other current officers at SJSO who have graduated from the FBI National Academy are Sheriff Mike Tregre, Major Greg Baker, Major Chip Wale, Major Brandon Barlow, Captain Carolina Pineda and Captain Lisa Dorris.
