On Monday, September 1, 2014, at 8:39 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 2900 block of Williamsburg Drive in LaPlace for the report of the theft of a vehicle. At 9:44 am, a deputy saw the vehicle near the intersection of Highway US 61 and Main Street and stopped it. The deputy arrested the driver for possession of stolen property. He was identified as a 15-year-old male from Revere Drive.
A computer check on the juvenile revealed that he was wanted on an outstanding warrant issued on May 23. During an investigation in May, detectives identified the same juvenile and another juvenile as suspects for the burglary of Frank’s Auto and Body Shop on Main Street in LaPlace and obtained arrest warrants for them. During the burglary, two vehicles were stolen from the business. The juvenile was booked on the warrant for simple burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle. He remains in custody at the Assumption Parish Juvenile Detention Center.
