St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre announced that the St. John Sheriff’s Office assisted the FBI May 3, 2016 in apprehending Matthew Vicknair, 30, of LaPlace. St. John detectives obtained a judicial warrant, and on May 03, 2016, at about 2:30 p.m., detectives arrested Matthew Vicknair without incident at his place of employment in Reserve. The arrest was made after a lengthy federal investigation, involving the FBI New Orleans Division’s Violent Crimes Against Children/Human Trafficking Task Force. Vicknair was charged by the St. John Parish District Attorney’s Office with 6 counts of possession of child pornography under the age of 13. In undercover chat sessions, Vicknair engaged in conversations with an undercover FBI Agent, attempting to facilitate sexual acts with a minor over the Internet. During the investigation, contributing information leading to Vicknair’s arrest was also provided by Homeland Security Investigations and the Adams County (Pennsylvania) DAs Office.
