The St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Division arrested Whitnee Chatman, 30, of Houston, Texas, and Antoine Borden, 30, of New Orleans, on Saturday, December 17, 2016 for narcotics and firearms violations during a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Chatman. Detectives arrested Borden and Chatman in the 4600 block of U.S. 61 in Garyville.
During the course of the investigation, detectives received information that Chatman was regularly traveling from Texas to Reserve to transport and sell narcotics. The traffic stop resulted in the discovery of about 2,000 doses of Xanax, 300 doses of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy), about 2 pounds of synthetic marijuana, one handgun, a small amount of marijuana and two bottles of promethazine.
The passenger in the vehicle was Borden who has outstanding warrants, as does Chatman. Also in the vehicle was Chatman’s juvenile son who was turned over to family members.
Chatman was arrested for possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, contempt of court, illegal use of controlled drug in presence of persons under 17 years old, possession of hydrocodone, illegal carrying of weapon with controlled dangerous substance, possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia, and sale, distribution, or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited; and possession with intent to distribute Xanax. Chatman was released from custody on December 20, 2016 on a $101,669.50 bond.
Borden was arrested for possession or distribution of drug paraphernalia, possession of hydrocodone, illegal use of controlled drug in presence of persons under 17 years old, illegal carrying of weapon with controlled dangerous substance, and sale, distribution, or possession of legend drug without prescription or order prohibited, possession with intent to distribute Xanax, possession with intent to distribute synthetic marijuana and possession with intent to distribute MDMA; and contempt of court. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $101,669.50 bond.
