St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives have arrested two men in connection with two LaPlace burglaries that included the theft of a flat screen TV, more than $1,000 worth of toys and clothing and purchases from Amazon that included three pairs of sneakers.
The burglaries, one involving a car and another a home, happened on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025 about two hours apart. Investigators say the two burglary incidents are unrelated.
“Unfortunately, the thieves were able to go on a shopping spree at the victims’ expense,” Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “However, our investigators were able to find them.”
At 7:37 p.m. on Monday, SJSO deputies responded to the 300 block of West Second Street in LaPlace for a report of a car burglary. The victim reported that several items, including cash, a pair of headphones and a cellphone, were taken from her vehicle that was parked in the driveway.
Investigators say the suspect used the victim’s phone to access an Amazon account and ordered several items. The merchandise was set for delivery to a LaPlace address, but the victim was able to cancel the order.
Through the course of the investigation, detectives were able to connect Raheem Joseph Narcisse, 25, to the car burglary. Narcisse was arrested Tuesday (Aug. 5th) and booked with bank fraud (felony), identity theft (misdemeanor), illegal possession of stolen things (misdemeanor) and four counts of computer fraud.
The second burglary incident was reported on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025 in the 2000 block of Virginian Colony Avenue in LaPlace. Investigators responded to a call to the home at 9:24 p.m. for a report of a burglary.
The home owner told investigators she arrived home to find a back window broken and rooms of the house were rummaged through leaving items strewn throughout the house. The owner reported several items missing including infant clothing valued at $1,000, toys and a 55-inch flat screen television.
Evidence collected during the investigation led investigators to Delvin Hutchinson, 31, of LaPlace. Hutchinson was arrested Thursday( Aug. 7th) and booked with simple burglary of an inhabited dwelling (felony).
