The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Wednesday night (Dec. 17, 2025) shortly before 7 p.m. in the 3100 block of English Colony Drive which is in the Cambridge subdivision in LaPlace.
Three people were shot, one of whom was killed. The deceased has been identified as Harold Warren, Jr., 16, of LaPlace. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.
A second male, age 19, was shot in the leg. The third male, age 17, was shot multiple times and is listed in critical condition.
A motive for the shooting is still under investigation. It appears the shooting is a result of a gun deal that went wrong.
The Sheriff’s Office received a call at 6:53 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 17) of a shooting in the 3100 block of English Colony Drive. When officers arrived on scene, they found a 17-year-old male lying in a driveway with gunshot wounds to his abdomen and right buttock. He was transported by ambulance to Ochsner Medical Complex.
A 16-year-old male was found lying in a wooded area of a backyard with a gunshot wound to the left side of the back. He was transported by ambulance to Ochsner Medical Complex where he was later pronounced dead.
Officers were notified by Ochsner Medical Complex that a 19-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the leg had been dropped off at the hospital by someone in a private vehicle.
The SJSO is continuing to investigate this incident.
