Alfred Roy Cobb, the Baton Rouge man wanted in connection with several ATM burglaries in St. John the Baptist Parish and other parishes, has been arrested in Temple, Texas. Cobb was arrested without incident Dec. 12 by U.S. Marshals after they found him at a U-Haul facility.
The St. John Sheriff’s Office is working on extraditing Cobb back to St. John Parish where he faces charges of simple burglary and criminal access to an ATM, both of which are felonies. Cobb, 32, faces similar charges in at least three other parishes—Tangipahoa, Livingston and East Baton Rouge—for similar ATM burglaries.
Cobb also faces felony firearm charges in Texas.
St. John Sheriff’s Office detectives were able to identify Cobb following an Oct. 12, 2024 incident in which he was caught on security cameras attempting to break into a bank ATM in LaPlace. Cobb used heavy construction tools such as crow bars and a heavy duty cutting saw to destroy the outer housing of the machine. His attempts to get money from the ATM were not successful.
