Spence AdamsOn Monday, January 23, 2012, at 6:54 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives arrested Spence Adams, 17, on a judicial court ordered arrest warrant for second degree murder.  Adams was wanted by St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office for the murder of Eric Labranch on Sunday, January 22nd.

Spence Adams surrendered to St. John the Baptist Parish Detectives at the Criminal Investigations Division at 6:54 pm without incident.  Adams’ bond was set at $500,000.00

On Sunday, January 22, 2012, at 12:12 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the intersection of Houma Drive and Grant Drive in LaPlace for a reported shooting.  The victim, identified as Eric Labranch, 32, of LaPlace,  was transported to River Parish Hospital where he succumbed to injuries sustained from a gunshot.

            Witnesses said the victim and perpetrator were arguing before the perpetrator pulled a gun and shot the victim.  The perpetrator fled the scene on foot heading north on Grant Drive.

Detectives identified the shooter as Spence Adams, 17, of Houma Drive in LaPlace.  He is 5 foot, 4 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a white tank top, blue jeans, red athletic shoes, and a red bandana.
