St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies have arrested three subjects for theft and burglary in three separate investigations.
On November 6, 2012, Chase P. Blouin, 30, of 2409 Oriole Loop in LaPlace was arrested and booked with simple burglary, possession of stolen things (3), and possession of schedule I CDS. He is being held at the Sherman Walker Correctional Center in lieu of an $85,000.00 bond.
After receiving a call of a suspicious person near a residence under repair on Ingleside Road in LaPlace, deputies located the subject who was later identified as Blouin. An investigation ensued and a search warrant executed at Blouin’s residence. Investigators recovered a utility vehicle that was reported stolen from Sunshine Equipment of LaPlace, a utility trailer that was reported stolen from Kenner, and a zero turn radius mower that was reported stolen from Woodville, Mississippi. Investigators also recovered a laptop computer and a GPS navigator stolen from the Ingleside Road residence and a small amount of methamphetamine.
On November 9, 2012, David Leonard, 37, of 426 Camphor Street in LaPlace was arrested and booked with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen things, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He has since bonded out on a $31,500.00 bond.
Subsequent to the investigation of a stolen truck reported stolen in LaPlace and the execution of a search warrant of Leonard’s residence, investigators arrested Leonard. Investigators recovered additional stolen vehicles and drug paraphernalia from his residence. This investigation is ongoing.
On November 17, 2012, Charles Brooks, 21, of 209 27th Street in Kenner was arrested and booked with simple burglary. He has since bonded out on a $25,000.00 bond.
While on patrol on Plymouth drive in LaPlace at approximately 1:30 am, a criminal patrol deputy drove up on a burglary in progress. When the deputy stopped to investigate, he observed a car that was backed on the driveway of a residence with keys in the ignition and the trunk open. In the back yard, the locks on the doors of two construction trailers were cut, and the doors were open. Tools were found in the trunk of the car and on the ground near the trailer. Subsequent to the investigation, Brooks was arrested.
