On Sunday, April 21, 2013, at 10:08 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 300 block of East 26th Street in Reserve for the report of possible residential burglary in progress. When deputies arrived at the location, the victim, an 89 year old wheelchair bound female, told investigators that she was in her bedroom when a male subject entered her residence through a bedroom window after he removed the air conditioner window unit. The perpetrator rummaged through her room and asked where the money was. When she told him that she only had $60 in the kitchen, he rolled her in her wheelchair to the kitchen. After she gave him the money, he fled out the rear door. The victim was not injured.

The perpetrator was wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Detectives at 985-359-TIPS or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111. Citizens that submit an anonymous tip to Crimestoppers may qualify for a cash reward. Anyone with information does not have to testify in court and will be issued a tip number to be identified for the potential reward.
