April 22, 2013, Attempted Armed Robbery Investigation
On Monday, April 22, 2013, at 12:57 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the 100 block of East 20th Street in Reserve for the report of a disturbance. When the responding deputy arrived at the location, the deputy saw a male subject fleeing the area. Another male subject at the location told deputies that the fleeing male subject tried to rob him. The victim was identified as a 27 year old LaPlace man.
The victim told investigators that the perpetrator approached him and asked for $20. When he told the perpetrator that he had nothing, the perpetrator pulled out a box cutter and threatened the victim. After a brief chase and physical altercation, the victim managed to fight off the perpetrator until deputies arrived. The victim sustained a small cut on his right index finger, but he refused medical treatment.
