On Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at 8:19 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report of a physical assault of a 32 year old LaPlace woman in a parking lot in the 1600 block of West Airline Highway in LaPlace. The victim told investigators that she and her 7 year old son were getting into their car when a man jumped on her lap and into the passenger seat of the car. When she fled from the car, the perpetrator chased her and threw her to the ground. When she started screaming loudly for help, he fled the area on foot, and she drove her car to the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters for help. The victim sustained a busted lip during the incident, and her son sustained a small bump on his forehead. Both victims were treated on the scene and declined transportation to a hospital.
The victim described the perpetrator as a younger male subject wearing a black shirt, black jeans, and a multi colored beanie.
