On Saturday, July 20, 2013, at 9:41 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies were notified by River Parish Hospital personnel that a patient walked in the emergency room with a gunshot wound to the left shoulder. The victim was Identified as a 20 year old man from Reserve. His injury was non-life threatening.
Ten minutes prior to this call, deputies responded to the area of Apricot Street in LaPlace for the report of gunshots heard in the area. Detectives are investigating both calls.
