Wanted for Counterfeit Checks

On April 2, 2014 a report was filed with the St. John Parish  Sheriff’s Office in reference to fraudulent checks being used at several businesses in the Laplace area. The checks used were business checks from Welder’s Supply and Equipment Rentals out of Port Allen La. Investigators discovered that an unknown black female wearing scrubs, was observed on surveillance video at Wal-Mart in Laplace La. purchasing computer equipment along with several other items. Investigators have reason to believe that plans are being made to print more counterfeit checks.
