On Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 7:32 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of East 24th Street in Reserve for the report of a robbery. The victim, a 33 year-old Reserve man, told deputies that he was walking on the street when a man walked up to him. The unidentified man told the victim to give him his money. When the victim refused to give him money, the perpetrator said, “Let me get my gun.” The victim then took $10 out of his pocket, and the perpetrator grabbed it from his hand and ran into a nearby trailer. No one was injured.

Deputies located the perpetrator in the trailer and recovered the money. He was identified as Freddie James, 25, of East 24th Street in Reserve. Deputies arrested and booked James with simple robbery. He remains in custody in lieu of a $15,000 bond.
