On Sunday, July 19, 2015, at 3:28 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff‘s Office deputies responded to the 100 block of Dave Street in Reserve for the report of the burglary of an unsecured truck. The victim, a 55-year-old woman, from LaPlace told deputies that she confronted the 15- year-old male perpetrator during the burglary and took her laptop out of his hands. She was not injured.
The victim told deputies that the perpetrator told her that he thought the truck was abandoned and that the items in the truck did not belong to anyone.
Deputies located and arrested the teenager at his residence on Dave Street. He was booked with simple burglary. He was released from jail to the custody of his mother.
