On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, at 9:50 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to investigate the report of an armed robbery that occurred in the 500 block of West Fifth Street in LaPlace. The 21-year-old victim told deputies that as he walked to work, three men approached him from behind and put what he believed to be a gun to his back. After one of the assailants punched him in the face, they pushed him to the ground and held him down. The assailants took his wallet and cell phone from his pockets. The victim refused emergency medical services.
The victim told deputies that one of the assailants wore a black shirt and black shorts.
