On Thursday, November 5, 2015, at 1:04 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the area of Elm Street in LaPlace for the report of gunshots heard. Upon arrival, deputies located a man with an apparent gunshot wound lying in the street in the 300 block of Fir Street. Deputies identified the victim as a 37-year-old LaPlace man. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a New Orleans area hospital for treatment. His current condition is unknown.
Investigators canvassed and searched the area for suspects and witnesses to no avail.
