St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives arrested Corey Bartholomew, 25, of Edgard in connection with the Edgard shooting that occurred Sunday night. Over the course of the investigation, detectives identified Bartholomew as a suspect and obtained a judicial court ordered arrest warrant.


Corey Bartholomew turned himself in to detectives at the Criminal Investigations Division Monday. Detectives arrested Bartholomew and booked him with aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm (3 counts). He was arrested six times in St. John the Baptist Parish since September 2013. His bond was not set.

Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 10:23 pm, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the 200 block of East 14th Street in Edgard for the report of a shooting victim needing medical attention. Deputies located a 26-year-old Killona man with an apparent gunshot wound to his neck. Emergency medical services transported the victim to a New Orleans area hospital for medical treatment. His current condition is unknown.

The victim told deputies that he was shot on East 6th Street in the 200 block. Investigators located and processed the crime scene on East 6th Street. The investigation is ongoing.
