On Wednesday, January 13, detectives with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office booked Roddy Johnson, 23, of LaPlace with second-degree murder. Johnson was booked for the murder of Ian Robertson of Lutcher. Robertson was shot September 14, 2014 on Revere Drive in LaPlace.
When detectives booked Johnson, he was in custody at the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Sherman Walker Correctional Center on unrelated charges stemming from an arrest on August 2, 2015. His bond was set at $250,000.

Homicide Investigation – Revere/Essex Drive, LaPlace
On Sunday, September 14, 2014, at 12:35 am, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the intersection of Revere Drive and Essex Drive in LaPlace for the report of someone that was shot. Deputies arrived to find a male subject with a gunshot wound and performed CPR to the victim until EMTs arrived. The victim was transported to River Parish Hospital. He succumbed to his injuries at 1:35 am. No one else was injured.
Investigators identified the victim as Ian Robertson, 33, of Lutcher, LA. Detectives have no suspects or motive for the homicide at this time. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday morning.
