On Monday, February 20, 2017, St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested Jonell Butler, 33, of LaPlace on three St. John the Baptist Parish warrants, two bench warrants and an attachment, and a fugitive warrant for the New Orleans Police Department for aggravated battery, first degree robbery, and illegal carrying of a weapon. When deputies attempted to arrest Butler at a Sunnyside Drive residence, Butler hid in the attic; however, he accidently busted through the ceiling enabling deputies to arrest him. Jonell Butler was previously arrested seven times in St. John the Baptist Parish since April 2001.
