Robert Lee Reynolds

Robert Lee Reynolds, 31, of Reserve was arrested Tuesday, October 24, 2017 in connection to an investigation into burglaries at two local businesses.

On Monday, October 16, 2017, deputies responded to the 3700 block of West Airline Highway in Reserve in reference to a burglary at William Scotsman Inc. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant who told officers that from October 11-16, 2017, someone burglarized the business by cutting the fence at the rear of the business and stole 31 window air conditioners from several mobile office containers. Officers learned that forced entry was made through metal doors of some containers, and other containers were unsecured.

Then, on Sunday, October 22, 2017, deputies responded to the 5200 block of West Airline Highway in Garyville in reference to a burglary at GTS Salvage. Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the complainant who told officers when he arrived at the business he heard the sound of power tools coming from a storage yard and then witnessed a subject, later identified as Reynolds, attempting to steal power tools and parts from the businesses’ vehicles. When Reynolds saw the complainant, Reynolds fled the scene in a pickup truck. Based on investigation and review of video recorded of the GTS incident, detectives developed Reynolds as a suspect and obtained a judicial warrant for his arrest. Reynolds was booked with four counts of simple burglary – immovable structure. Two air condition units were recovered for William Scotman. No items have been recovered at this time for GTS. Reynolds is being held in custody in lieu of a $100,000 bond. This investigation is ongoing.
