Lawanda Wilson

Lawanda Wilson, 46, of LaPlace was arrested Friday, November 17, 2017 for cruelty to juveniles. On Friday, November 17, 2017, about 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a residence on Grant Drive in LaPlace in reference to a juvenile who was found wondering the area, alone and in poor health. During this investigation, detectives discovered that the juvenile and a sibling were being physically and mentally abused by their stepmother, Lawanda Wilson. Following medical treatment, both children were released into the care of other family members. Wilson was arrested and charged for two counts of second degree cruelty to juveniles. Wilson was released from custody Saturday, November 18, 2017 on a $60,000 bond.
