Eli Juan Moore

Eli Juan Moore, 22, of LaPlace was arrested by members of the St. John Sheriff’s Office Special Operations, Warrants Unit, in the 300 block of Elm Street in LaPlace yet again on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 for five active warrants for contempt of court and was found to be in possession of eight grams of crack –cocaine and suspected fentanyl.

Moore was booked with distribution/manufacturing of crack cocaine (felony); possession of cocaine less than 28 grams (felony); jumping bail (felony); and for five active warrants for contempt of court. He is being held in custody in lieu of a $27,208.50 bond. Moore has been arrested 28 times in St. John Parish since 2013.

He was out on bond on 17 different cases since 2015.

The list of charges, which include several resisting arrest and flight charges, in the various cases include:

2017

• Illegal possession of stolen things of a value of $1,500 or more

• Flight from an officer

• Simple escape

• Possession of 14 grams or less of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance – marijuana; resisting an officer; theft of less than $750; careless operation of a vehicle; no seat belt; operating a vehicle without a driver’s license; failure to yield to emergency vehicle; speeding

• Disturbing the peace by offensive language; resisting an officer; failure to stop at a stop sign; driving under suspension; no insurance

• Resisting an officer; reckless operation

• Distribution/possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substance II; distribution/possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substance I; obstruction of justice; possession of 14 grams or less of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance, marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia – first offense

• Simple criminal damage to property under $500

• Unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling

• Resisting an officer

• Possession of 14 grams or less of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance, marijuana; flight from an officer

• Possession of 14 grams or less of a schedule I controlled dangerous substance – marijuana

2015

• Simple assault; operating a vehicle without a driver’s license

• Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle

• Theft of a value less than $750

• Simple criminal damage to property under $500; criminal trespassing

The severity of Moore’s open cases that include multiple resisting arrest and flight charges is concerning, Sheriff Mike Tregre said.
