Sheriff Mike Tregre announced the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office is observing Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October. The effects of domestic violence are felt not only by the victims but by their family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Domestic violence impacts the entire community.“Community members have an obligation to recognize, address, and end domestic violence,” Sheriff Tregre said, “because it affects many aspects of our parish … crime rates, public health, jobs, and families especially the children.” To help friends, neighbors and communities, a No More campaign is underway nationwide.
