Deputy Bernell Charles, Cpl. Huu Nguyen and Sheriff Mike Tregre, along with Deputy Ingrid Perrilloux, helped spread holiday cheer November 22, 2020 when they handed out Thanksgiving baskets to families in need. The drive-thru event was presented by the St. John Pastors Coalition at New Wine Fellowship in LaPlace.About 2,500 baskets filled with a whole chicken, stuffing, green beans and sweet potatoes were distributed to families. Sheriff Tregre and the officers were happy to assist at this event, and they enjoyed wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
