Felton Jackson, 19, and Jamyrion Irvin, 18, both of LaPlace were arrested Thursday, May 5, 2022 in connection to a shooting in the Sugar Ridge neighborhood in LaPlace.

On Thursday, May 5, 2022, about 10:30 a.m., deputies responded to the area of Cartier Drive in LaPlace in reference to gunshots fired. When deputies arrived, they located a vehicle on Jasper Lane, near Cartier Drive, that was struck by bullets. No one was injured.

Through video surveillance and investigation, officers developed Jackson and Irvin as suspects.

Jackson was charged with illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities – weapons law violation, aggravated criminal damage to property (felony). He is being held in custody in lieu of a $60,000 bond. Additional charges are pending for Jackson.

Irvin was charged with accessory after the fact – illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities, and aggravated criminal damage to property (felony). He was released May 5, 2022.
