Mario Folgar Sr. 49, of LaPlace was arrested Friday, October 21, 2022 for rape and other sexual offenses involving juveniles.
In early September, detectives received a complaint of allegations of child sexual abuse. During the course of the investigation, detectives obtained evidence that Folgar had engaged in sexual contact with two females when they were juveniles.
Following the investigation, detectives obtained warrants for Folgar’s arrest. Detectives made contact with Folgar October 21, 2022. He was charged with two counts of sexual battery (felony), first degree rape, oral sexual battery (felony) sex offense – registration required; indecent behavior with juveniles (felony) sex offense – registration required.
Folgar’s bond was set at $245,000 with no 10 percent. He was released October 22, 2022 after posting bond.
