A LaPlace man and a 16-year-old male juvenile from LaPlace were December 15, 2022 in connection to a home invasion.

On December 15, 2022, about 10:15 a.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 400 block of Elm Street in LaPlace in reference to a male subject, later identified as Jordan Duhe, 18, forcing entry into a residence and pointing a gun at the 38-year-old female victim.

Upon arrival, officers learned the victim was sleeping when she heard a loud noise of a door being kicked in. Exiting her bedroom, the victim told deputies she saw a male in the hallway of her residence, pointing a gun at her. As she ran and locked herself in a bedroom, the perpetrator fled the residence. Shortly after, officers canvassed the area for the suspect. After a brief foot pursuit, Duhe, as well as a juvenile with Duhe, were apprehended.

The victim was uninjured. Officers learned a firearm was stolen from the residence, which was later located with the assistance of the Federal (ATF) Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Bureau.

Through investigation, detectives discovered that Duhe, the juvenile, and another unknown subject were responsible for the home invasion.

Duhe was charged with resisting an officer (misd); and home invasion (felony). Bail has not yet been set for Duhe.

The 16-year-old was booked with home invasion (felony) and resisting an officer (misd).
