Trevin Williams, 28, of Garyville has been arrested following a traffic stop incident in Garyville where he struck two deputies as he fled the scene.

On November 28, 2023, deputies made a traffic stop involving Williams, who was wanted for an outstanding traffic warrant, along with a bench warrant for possession of methamphetamine.

As deputies approached Williams’ vehicle he fled the scene, striking two deputies with his vehicle. Shortly after, Williams crashed the vehicle into a ditch and fled on foot. Deputies canvassed the area but were unable to locate Williams at the time. The deputies were treated for minor injuries at the scene.

Williams was taken into custody by SWAT December 23, 2023. Despite family members reporting that Williams had fled to Texas, SWAT investigators maintained continuous surveillance and positively identified Williams at a residence on Sherman Walker Street in Garyville where he was arrested without incident.

Williams booked for an outstanding traffic attachment, a bench warrant for possession of methamphetamine, Obstruction of Justice, Possession Marijuana, and Resisting by Flight. He was also booked with two felony counts of battery of a police officer.

He was released on a $23,019.50 bond December 24, 2023.
