st. John Parish Sheriff Mike Tregre and Det. Sgt. Demond Memminger were honored March 1 during a luncheon hosted by Crimestoppers Greater New Orleans at the Sheraton Hotel.
Sheriff Tregre was named the recipient of the 2024 Harry Lee Lifetime Achievement in Criminal Justice Award, which recognizes an individual or organization, whose lifetime mission has been public service and promotion of community welfare and safety. Sheriff Tregre has worked in law enforcement for 36 years.
Det. Sgt. Memminger was honored as the St. John Sheriff’s Office’s 2023 Officer of the Year. He was recognized for his heroic actions on October 23, 2023 when he saved the life of a woman involved in fiery crash in on Interstate 55 in St. John the Baptist Parish.
