Davon Tyrell Dallon, 24, of Killona was arrested Monday, August 8, 2022 after fleeing from police with a 4-year-old male juvenile in his vehicle.
On Monday, August 8, 2022, about 4:30 p.m., officers were notified of a fugitive driving a vehicle in the area of La. 3188 at U.S. 61. Upon arrival in the area, officers attempted to make a traffic stop in the 1600 block of U.S. 61.
The driver, later identified as Dallon, refused to stop and fled from deputies at a high rate of speed. A pursuit followed through several streets in Belle Terre subdivision. At St. Andrew’s Boulevard and LA 3188, as officers attempted to deploy stop sticks, Dallon continued to flee in the vehicle, intentionally striking two officers and their patrol units. He continued to travel north on La. 3188 to I-10 westbound. On I-10, Dallon lost control of the vehicle, striking another vehicle near mile marker 203.9 then crashing into the concrete guardrail.
Dallon exited the vehicle and jumped off of the bridge into the marsh. Shortly after, officers with the SJSO Search and Rescue team apprehended Dallon. Searching Dallon’s vehicle, officers discovered a 4-year-old male juvenile laying on the back floorboard.
The juvenile was unharmed. The two officers were transported to a local hospital where they were treated and released. The three occupants of the vehicle Dallon crashed into also were treated and released.
Dallon was charged with aggravated flight from an officer by vehicle (felony), cruelty to juveniles with force /violence (felony), two counts of attempted second degree murder and child desertion (misd). He also was wanted on fugitive warrant from the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office.
