For a few years, an elaborate Halloween display created by SJSO Officers Jenni Estraca and Jason Raborn has been the talk of a Reserve neighborhood. This year, the officers have put together a pirate theme, including a ship, pirate’s booty, many other props, and movie nights, at their home on West First and Cornland streets.
This year, the officers have added a special feature – a fundraiser to benefit children with cancer. Estraca and Raborn are partnering with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital’s Skeletons for St. Jude.
Skeletons for St. Jude is a group created by people who love decorating for Halloween and want to use their displays towards something good. Estraca and Raborn’s home is among hundreds throughout the nation decorated for Halloween being showcased as part of the fundraiser.
A sign with a QR code has been placed prominently in Estraca and Raborn’s Halloween display. One hundred percent of the donations from people who stop by the display will go to Skeletons for St. Jude.
Each year, Skeletons for St Jude sets a goal of $100,000. Last year’s donations totaled $214,265. Estraca and Raborn have set a goal of $2,000 for their display.
We ask you to help them reach their goal to support St. Jude.
“We We work hard to do something fun for the neighborhood and enjoy the smiles it brings,” Estraca said.
