St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives, working in conjunction with narcotics investigators and SWAT personnel from multiple agencies, culminated several months of a major narcotics investigation on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, with the execution of search warrants at three different locations on the west bank of St. John Parish as well as one location in St. James Parish.
During the search, investigators located a pill press that is capable of manufacturing thousands of illicit pills an hour, multiple firearms, large amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, pressed pills and marijuana.
One man has been arrested. However, this investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
“Major investigations like this one are often started with tips from the public,” St. John Sheriff Mike Tregre said. “We appreciate all of the help and calls we receive from our community and ask that everyone continue to ‘say something’ if you see suspicious activity. Our drug tip line—985-652-3784—is always open.”
Sheriff Tregre and the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance during the course of this investigation:
• Drug Enforcement Administration – New Orleans (TDS)
• St. James Parish Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Division
• Louisiana State Police
