Detectives with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division have arrested Dennis Stephens of LaPlace and booked him with first degree rape, two counts of sexual battery and indecent behavior with juveniles.
Stephens previously was arrested for sexual battery and indecent behavior with juveniles in September 2025, following a previous investigation led by the SJSO Criminal Investigations Division.
Following Stephens’ arrest in September 2025, two additional victims came forward and also reported being sexually abused by Stephens. Through the course of that investigation, detectives were able to determine that Stephens was responsible for the reported allegations.
At the conclusion of the second investigation, an arrest warrant was submitted and approved for the arrest of Stephens.
Stephens, 68, was arrested on Dec. 1, 2025, for the aforementioned warrant and released the following day after posting a bond of $52,500 set by Judge Vercell Fiffie.
