The St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office has arrested three people in connection with a homicide that occurred Wednesday, July 22, 2026 in Reserve, LA. The victim, identified as Jacoi Cosey, 18, of Reserve, La., was found inside a vehicle on Northwest First Street with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a call on Wednesday at 9:38 p.m. regarding a shooting at the intersection of Northwest First Street and Railroad Avenue in Reserve. When officers arrived on scene, they found a victim, later identified as Cosey, in the back seat of a car.
Over the course of the investigation, SJSO detectives were able to identify three suspects in the case: Brandon Blackmore, 20, of LaPlace, Tyshley Marks, 22, of Reserve and Emanuel Rayfield Jr, 17, of Reserve.
All three were booked with armed robbery with a firearm (felony) and second degree murder. The suspects robbed Cosey of his gun.
Blackmore, Marks and Rayfield were arrested on Thursday, July 23, 2026 and are each being held under a $475,000 bond for those charges.
