Sheriff Mike Tregre announces that the St John Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted twenty six alcohol compliance check investigations in St John the Baptist Parish on August 10, 2012.
The investigations resulted in the arrest of ten individuals for violating Louisiana Revised Statute 14:93.11 sale of alcohol to a minor. In addition, the retail locations were cited by the Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control for sale of alcohol to minors and will face possible fines and/or suspension of their liquor licenses.
The offenders are:

Suzanne Kliebert, age 56 Millet Quick Stop 1525 W. Airline LaPlace
Jodah Jodah, age 21 Stop N Save 805 Newport LaPlace
Yvonne Sterling, age 45 Circle K Gas Station 4300 US 51 LaPlace
Jacqueline Holmes, age 38 E-Z Stop 101 W. Airline LaPlace
Tae Jeong, age 52 Min Hui Mart 601 Main St LaPlace
Mahmound Hemaid age 22 Birdie’s Food and Fuel 901 E. Airline LaPlace
Sheriff Tregre pointed out that the following sixteen locations did not sell to the undercover minors: Cheap Smokes, Big River Food and Fuel (Shell Ormond), Chevron Gas Station (US 51), Shell Gas Station (US 51), Pilot Travel Center, Race Trac, Big River Food and Fuel (shell by scales), Shell Gas Station (Belle Terre), Birdie’s Food and Fuel (Belle Terre), Pit Stop Petroleum, Road Runner Gas Station, In and Out (La 44), Birdie’s Food and Fuel (W 6th Reserve), Fast Stop, Mike’s Food Mart, and Moni Carlo.
Sheriff Tregre noted that these establishments and their employees are the first line of defense in the battle against underage drinking. He praised them for their continued efforts in making St John the Baptist Parish a safer and healthier environment for our youth.
